Adieu Marilyn was inspired by the events of September 11.
Authouart
has come to New York City every year since 1983. With his love for the cinema and the vibrant vitality of the city, he always comes to Times Square. It is not unusual for him to dream of the great stars of Hollywood, like Marilyn Monroe, while he sits on the sidewalk and draws. Perhaps he will imagine Marilyn in The Seven Year Itch while Gershwin's Manhattan echoes in his head.
Perhaps those times are now gone forever. King Kong, Superman, Batman... they're not strong enough to prevent real airplanes from crashing into our skyline. The new reality is portrayed on the Times Square Panavision screen and the wanted poster just to it's left of Osama bin Laden.
