A pretty woman, a terrific car...in front of a casino... Three elements in a dream world.
Time goes by...the beautiful building is deserted, the windows are broken and the car is stranded and being engulfed by time. Only the woman with her proud eyes displays her eternal femininity, without which nothing else makes sense.
The sand blows and the waves keep crashing. The tides come in and go out leaving thousands of shells in the sand that line the beach like a border of lace.
This piece displays the loneliness and desolation of the Normandy coast after the summer vacationers have left. Authouart grew up in and still lives in the Normandy region of northern France. This building is the Casino at Trouville, near Deauville, France.
This is the fourth in a series of six images entitled Voitures de Rêves.
