When the Mustang was first introduced in France, an advertisement said - "When you were a teenager you promised yourself: One day I will have a car like that."
What has happened in this picture? Early in the morning there is a beautiful girl that has been murdered. A private detective appears, but there is nothing he can do. The crime has taken place some time ago. The abandoned car is old and rusting. Other old relics appear near the car in the sand.
Authouart has always loved detective novels. In painting this picture he has tried to recreate the feeling of reading those thrillers when he was a teenager.
The beach was drawn at Villers Sur Mer in Normandy, France.
This is the sixth in a series of six images entitled Voitures de Rêves.
