Authouart loves to engrave. For this etching he has taken three copper plates and cut them with a high-pressure jet of water.
He has engraved each plate and finished burning in the details with a special acid. This technique enables him to print many colors.
The subject of Quelques Notes is a detail from a large painting, Tableaux d'une Exposition, which was the center-piece for an important exhibition in Paris.
Seeing this etching, you can imagine a young woman playing the piano for herself or perhaps for her Teddy Bear. It is set in Italian landscape with a castle in the background.
